Road Conditions
Council in conjunction with the State Emergency Services monitor Narromine Shire roads, to ensure your safety.
Please contact Council on (02) 6889 9999 should you require additional information.
Please note, major roads come under the jurisdiction of Transport for NSW.
Please visit LiveTraffic NSW for live updates, traveller information and personalised alerts for NSW roads.
Council road closures and disruptions are published directly to the NSW Government’s Live Traffic website.
Live traffic displays real-time information on traffic conditions, incidents and major events across all of New South Wales allowing residents, travellers and visitors to keep up to date on road and traffic conditions in one central place.
During rain and flood events, Narromine Shire Council staff continue to inspect the road networks and collect information to update LiveTraffic NSW at regular intervals.
This page is updated as information becomes available. For instant updates please follow Narromine Shire Council on Social Media and push to your mobile device.
Residents are reminded not to drive through flood water and drive to the conditions. Please observe all signs as waterways can rise and fall in a short period of time.
School buses, emergency vehicles and council maintenance vehicles are exempt from road closures.
Warning
Council appeals to drivers to assist in preventing damage to unsealed roads by choosing alternative routes or waiting until drier conditions prevail.
The preservation of our roads is of prime importance.
Driving or walking through flood waters should be avoided since water may be deeper or faster flowing than anticipated and/or the road may have suffered extensive damage hidden beneath the water.
Please note that concessions are possible, on request, for urgent transport activity on routes considered suitable to carry proposed loads.
Please contact Council’s Infrastructure and Engineering Department to discuss requirements by calling 02 6889 9999.
