Building drought resilience in our community
Narromine Shire Council in partnership with Dubbo Regional Council have received funding under the Regional Drought Resilience Program to improve community resilience around how we manage and recover from drought.
The Central Orana Drought Resilience Plan will include historical and predicted impacts of drought and identify opportunities and initiatives that will focus on community wellbeing, economic and business sustainability, and environmental needs.
This is not something that council can do on its own. Our community’s lived experience of drought, is critical to the development of the Resilience Plan and while we can’t stop another drought from coming, we can be better prepared.
