Raw Water Standpipes
NSW State Water has advised Council that as a result of the Macquarie River being in a Stage 4 critical water shortage, all General Security Water Allocations and Carry Over Allocations have been cancelled as of 1 July 2019. For Narromine Shire Consumers, this means all use of the Nymagee Street Raw Water Standpipe in Narromine must cease.
The only water available from standpipes in Narromine and Trangie is Drinking Water which is charged at a higher rate per KL and should be restricted to human consumption. Holders of Council Avdata Raw Water Standpipe Keys will be advised by mail of the cessation of availability. Council wishes to remind eligible persons to contact Council regarding its Drought Relief Water Program details of which can be found here.
Rate payers are also advised that all parks and playing fields in Narromine are now being watered with Drinking Water and that Level 3 Water restrictions remain in force in Narromine.
