River repair bus returns to the Narromine Region

The Ozfish Inland Waterways River Repair Bus team is returning to the Narromine Region from September to November to clean up a number of Narromine’s reserves and waterways.

The $20,000 project is funded by the Australian Government through the Drought Communities Program (DCP) which aims to deliver projects that provide a benefit to local communities.

Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager, Mrs Jane Redden said “the general tidy-up is being carried out to remove rubbish and weeds from a number of reserves and waterways within the Narromine Region”

“Council is targeting weeds such as Tiger pear, Box thorn, Green cestrum and Caster Oil, which are becoming problematic in a number of our reserves”

“Council would like to thank the River Repair Bus for their continued great work of cleaning up the Region” she said.

Ozfish Inland Waterways River Repair Bus’ Team Leader, Mr David Harris thanked Council and the Australian Government for the opportunity to participate in the clean up in the Narromine Region.

The teams will be working in a range of areas including;
