Narromine Shire Council along with the Ozfish Inland Waterways River Repair Bus wound up the reserves clean-up project with a community BBQ and planting of casuarina seedlings at Narromine Wetlands on Tuesday 20 October 2020.
Narromine Shire Council’s Mayor Clr Craig Davies said, ‘the environmental work undertaken by the River Repair Bus participants and volunteers has been invaluable. Council’s reserves along its waterways are well utilised during the warmer months and are now easily accessible for visitors and users of these sites.’
The River Repair Bus participants targeted environmental clean-up work at the Goan Water Hole in Trangie, Rotary Park, High Park Reserve and Narromine Wetlands as well as a number of popular sites along the Macquarie River that are accessible recreation areas.
Council particularly acknowledges Narromine Rotary for their continued and invaluable support at the Wetlands.
The project was funded by the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Program.
