EXTRAORDINARY NARROMINE WOMEN SHINE BRIGHTLY

Narromine Shire Council congratulates two extraordinary women Lynda Edwards and Sally Everett on their recent awards.

Narromine’s Lynda Edwards has been named 2023 NSW Premier’s Woman of the Year and 2023 NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year. 

Lynda is a proud Wangkumara and Barkandji woman who has been a dedicated voice and volunteer in the Narromine community, she has spent many years advocating for financial rights, fairness and inclusion of First Nations people across NSW and Australia.

Narromine’s Sally Everett has been announced as the 2023 Dubbo Electorate Woman of the Year. Sally has spent much of her time to help raise awareness and funds for skin cancer research and is an integral part of Narromine Jets Senior Rugby League Club.

Narromine Shire Council’s Mayor Clr Craig Davies extended his congratulations to Lynda and Sally on behalf of the entire Narromine Shire community. 

Clr Davies said, “Lynda and Sally have set examples that are inspirational to us all and they should both be so proud of the impact that have made on making other people’s lives so much better.” 

Lynda Edwards was announced as the 2023 NSW Premier’s Woman of the Year and NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year by NSW Minister for Women The Hon Bronnie Taylor MLC at an awards ceremony in Sydney today.
