A FRESH START FOR NARROMINE’S YOUNG TALENT

Narromine Shire Council is paving the way for young professionals by welcoming three new employees as part of its commitment to workforce development.

An Apprentice Groundskeeper, a Cadet Engineer and a Trainee Procurement Officer have recently joined the team, all of whom will gain hands-on experience while earning nationally recognised qualifications.

These positions are supported through the NSW Government’s ‘Fresh Start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees, and Cadets Program.’

General Manager Jane Redden emphasised the importance of investing in young talent to build a skilled and resilient local government workforce.

“This initiative provides young people with the opportunity to develop valuable skills, gain formal qualifications and establish strong career foundations. By fostering education and employment pathways, Council is helping school leavers transition into the workforce while developing professionals for the future,” said Mrs. Redden.

Council is excited to offer young local people the opportunity to study and work in the Narromine Region, allowing them to build their careers close to home while contributing to the local community.

Through a combination of practical training and structured learning, our new recruits will play an integral role in Council’s day to day operations.

Council remains dedicated to offering meaningful career pathways that support both individual growth and the long-term sustainability of the local workforce," added Mrs. Redden.
